Free training: Silence hides violence, dealing with cases of violence against women

Roj Women and the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) are delivering a free training to support victims of violence against women. ‘Silence hides violence’ will take place on Friday 16th November.
We all encounter cases of violence against women. A relative, a friend, a work colleague, a neighbour. Given the high incidence of this abuse in the UK, and particularly among ethnic minorities such as the Kurdish community in London, chances are that sooner or later we will all find ourselves in the difficult situation of having to reach out and support a woman victim of violence.

Unfortunately, violence against women is greatly unreported among ethnic minorities: a Kurdish woman is indeed more likely than the UK average to stay in an abusive relationship before seeking help.
